Conveniently located 25 minutes south-east of Ottawa, Russell Township serves a vibrant, caring, bilingual and growing population of approximately 16,000 individuals that includes (primarily) young families, educated professionals, spirited entrepreneurs and talented tradespeople in a rural setting.

According to the Canada Census 2011

  • Population: 15,247
    • Urban: 10,139
      • Embrun: 6,380

Russell offers both new construction homes, as well as established neighborhoods. It’s close proximity to Ottawa, 5 schools, and small town feel, make Russell the perfect place to raise a family.

In the heart of the village you can often find the locals sitting on the street benches enjoying their ice cream cones from RJ’s Ice Cream Shop.

The village boasts a public library, convenience store, large gas station, a Scotiabank, post office, 2 pharmacies, a Foodland grocery store, Home Hardware, 3 restaurants, an arena, curling club, a few salons, and a pet store. You can also find many at home businesses offering salon and aesthetic services, pet groomers, general contractors, plumbers, painters and home renovations. We are blessed to have two beautiful conservation areas with walking trails. No need to ever leave!

Russell is a growing community and is home to many in the public service industry such as military, paramedics, and police officers.

Being a Russell local myself I am able to show you around and speak from experience. Ask me how I can help you settle in 🙂
